![]() ![]() What are you streaming to? I can't think of any devices that support plex that can't play H264 natively. Seems that it still encodes the audio, but the video is taxing the CPU less. However, with HA enabled, it really brings CPU usage down to around 20%. It makes my CPU go to 100% in no time flat and stays that way until the video is done. So most of the time only the video needs to be transcoded. ![]() When I rip my movies, I always rip to H264 8Mbps (action) / 5Mbps (comedies, dramas) with AAC stereo 160 kbps. However, when trying to transcode a 1080p to watch on an Android tablet, the thing chokes sometimes. My server is a "lowly" Sandy Bridge i3-2310M, which is really more than enough for everything else I use it for. I have it turned on, and it seems to be making a respectable difference. ![]()
